Regarding shark cage diving: There is no place inside the U.S.
that do this as far as I am aware. I do know there are several
places in South Africa that will allow a certified SCUBA diver
to cage dive with the sharks but you have to be certified to a
minimum of 70 feet with at least 20 logged dives. The cost
varies from around $3000 - $5000 per person.(This is one of the
things I want to do soon as well).

Could you please tell me a good hotel or motel on the Beach , we
are a senior couple and want walking distance to shops and
restaurants. We prefer a smaller hotel and beachfront. Thank
you, Gail Alvin

reply to umbrella and chair rental.
Umbrellas are $150.00 per day if you get the plain ones, white,
blue, yellow. If you get stripes, tack on another $10.00. As far
as chair rental, you might as well bring your own, lots of
places charge by the week, $250.00, but if you are lucky, you
might find a couple bums or drunkards you could bribe into
kicking someone out of a chair. If all else fails and there are
no chairs to be found, go out late late at night and sleep in
one of them so you will have a chair the next morning.

I worked at the Outrigger for 17 years. Lattie, jr. is my ex
brother in law. I know there is a cook book which I can try to
get for you. Alot if the staff from there including some of the
Upchurch's (my nieces & nephew) work with me at the restaurant I
work at in North myrtle beach. I will see if I can get at least
the recipe or a cook book for you.

There are plenty of places with outside grilling. Actually have
you checked with your hotel. I know Compass Cove has grilling
facilities by the pools.
And of course there is always the Myrtle Beach State Park. If
you are on s ocean blvd continue south until it ends. Make a
left on kings hwy and go appx 1 mile. You'll see it on the left.
Its awesome. Big picnic areas, grills and still access to the
beach.

Hi, my wife and I have been enjoying vacations in Myrtle beach
for over 20 years. We just came back from spending two weeks and
our children (ages 10, 12 and 15) were disappointed we had to
leave. I have a question, we always made sure we ate at the
Farmers Daughter Buffet while down there, and we were all
disappointed that it was closed. Can you tell me what happened?
did they go out of business or were just closed for
renovations??
Thank you
John.

My family and I ate at the Outrigger in North Myrtle Beach for
many years. We were extremely disappointed to see that it had
closed the last time we were there. Do you know if there are any
cookbooks available for this restaurant? I really loved the
dipping sauce for their hushpuppies. I should have bought a
cookbook a long time ago, but I always thought I would be able
to go there to eat. Thanks for your help.

This is not a comment, but seeking information. My husband and
I, along with two friends, are planning a trip to Myrtle Beach
in July. We need accommodations where there is a pier to fish
off of without going into the water. It must be close to the
hotel where we will be staying. We appreciate any information
you can e-mail to me concerning this request along with prices
for the hotel and fishing.

RE: Swimming with dolphin. The closest you're going to get to
the dolphins is on a jet ski tour. Swimming with them in SC is
against the law in the wild. There are no dolphin research
centers here. Wish there was. Try googling mbjetski. Good luck,
hope you get to see them up-close.
